The company had recently gone through a major reduction-in-force (RIF) but was just acquired by a private equity firm and was staffing back up. While the company has been around for over 15 years, all the SDLC processes, Program Management processes, long-range roadmaps, and planning disappeared in the RIF. Now it’s time to build it all back again.
PMSIG host Jon Bach will interview Patrick about his experiences meeting this challenge, including:
• Alignment: How do you assign focused responsibilities and build stable teams despite not having a Product Org?
• Process & Prioritization: There are more business proposals than bandwidth. What does “good enough for now” mean? What does it mean to refine as capacity increases?
• Hiring: One bad hire can tank your team, and arguably, your career. How do you distribute new hires carefully and smartly?
About our speaker: Patrick has 20+ years in software testing and test management before venturing into the Program Management space. He has been a Certified Scrum Master since 2004 and tries to approach every new problem with an Agile mindset. He is still striving to build or find an org that is truly “doing it right.”
